What is the fate of the beast in Daniel's vision?
"I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time" (Daniel 7:11-12).
After Daniel is shown the throne of God in heaven he sees the beast boasting until he is slain. The beast will spend 1260 days blaspheming God and boasting that he is God (Revelation 13.5). At the end of this time the beast is slain, his body is destroyed and it is cast into the burning lake (Lake of Fire). This passage shows that the beast is a man. A political system cannot have a body that is killed, destroyed and then burned.
The description of what happens to the beast here is different from what happens to him in the book of Revelation. In Revelation the beast is killed and his body is not destroyed. He is seized, along with the False Prophet and they are thrown into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 19:20).
The apparent contradiction can be explained: The Antichrist is killed as Daniel said, but before his body is cast into the Lake of Fire he is resurrected. Therefore both Daniel and John are correct in what they wrote about the Antichrist. He will be killed, resurrected and then he will be cast into a Lake of Fire.
