Was Mary without sin?
Some teachings exist, primarily in the Catholic Church that Mary, the mother of Jesus, was without sin and immune to the Adamic sin nature that everyone else has -- that Mary never in her life committed a sin. Famous theologians who have taught this myth use resources outside of the Bible. God chose young Mary, a virgin, to carry the baby Jesus, placing her in a very special standing, but in the Bible, Mary herself spoke of Jesus as her Savior, not a Savior. By that statement alone she was fully aware of her need for the Savior.
"My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior" (Luke 1:46-47).
Scripture teaches clearly that "ALL have sinned" and Mary is not part of this equation.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Nowhere in Scripture do we find that Mary was an exception to this truth. Jesus Christ is the only sinless Person. Not Mary, not anyone can be elevated to the position of being sinless, only God Himself.
